The applications of titanium dioxide (TiO2) in aqueous system: A short review
Evyan Chia-Yan Yang1.
This article provides the readers an overview of the titanium dioxide (TiO2) application in liquid state. TiO2 is an excellent photocatalyst that is utilized in photodegradation, antibacterial and antiviral activity self-cleaning system, acted as pigment and additive to improve tribological properties with the presence of -OH. The article reviews the applications of TiO2 in aqueous system. TiO2 is widely used in an aqueous system due to its chemical and thermal stability. Nevertheless, TiO2 which is appeared in powder form has limited its usage in terms of reusability and recyclability. The article assesses the immobilization of TiO2 on different types of host materials towards sustainability in aqueous systems.
