It may be ironical to talk about development communication in an era that has been characterised by information and communication revolution. However, this revolution creates a gap between communication media and human aspects of information, hence the continuing relevence of development issues. This article defines development news and the role of media in the development of a society and nation. The process, approach and values with regard to journalism is discussed in the context of Malaysian media and its environment.
