Sastera jenaka: yang parodi dan yang asli
Rahman Shaari1.
One of the many kinds of literary materials is comedy. This article is about comedy in Malay literature. Comedy is created in prose and poetry forms. In tradisional malay literature we may find the story about Pak Pandir, Pak Kaduk and many more. We may also find “pantun” and “seloka” with the theme of comedy. In modern Malay literature we may find several comedy novel, short stories, drama scripts and poems. Those are either original or parody. The original works are the works that are written by the authors from their own creativity, while the works of parody are the REWRITING or RETELLING of the original works. Parody means manipulation of works to make them satirixal and humorous.
