Roosfa Hashim1.
This paper studies the magazines and newspapers published by al-Arqam and other publishers related to their movement between 1977 and 1997. The al-Arqam publication unit was established in 1977 and became very active during the 80s before it stopped its publishing activities in 1977 after the movement was banned by the Malaysian government. However, al-Arqam members and other publishers continued publishing to promote al-Arqam’s teachings. This article concludes that al-Arqam was the most active and prolific among the Islamic movements during the 70s and 80s based on the number and variety of publications.
