One of the most interesting features in the history of the Indian nationalist movement during the first two decades of the 206 century was the prevalence of revolutionary conspiracies, which aimed to overthrow the British Government in India by violent means. It is also interesting to note that the nationalist movement was one of the most eminent themes in the Indian historiography at this time. This can be conceived from the massive studies which related to this theme. There are two categories of scholars who dealt with this theme. The first concentrated more on the Indian National Congress, and personalities such as Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru etc. The second concentrated their studies on the Indian people and Indian subject.
