A study on compressive strength of cement bound waste material geocomposite
Chow Shiao Huey1, Anas Ibrahim2, Abdul Naser Abdul Ghani3.
This study investigates the compressive strength of cement bound waste material geocomposite. Two different waste materials namely tire shred and rubber shred were investigated in this project. Laboratory compression tests were conducted on the cement bound waste material geocomposite specimens involving investigation on effect of curing day, effect of water-cement ratio, effect of exposure/curing condition, and effect of cement content. An increasing compressive strength was observed with increasing curing day and water-cement ratio. The compressive strength of the geocomposite was also found to increase with severity of exposure condition and increasing cement content.
