Faktor-faktor kejayaan perniagaan Khadijah binti Khuwailid: analisis terhadap usahawan asnaf di Lembaga Zakat Selangor

Khadijah Binti Khuwailid is a successful entrepreneur who has a lot of properties, extensive business networks and ample employees. Moreover, she also has noteworthy contributions particularly in the early period of development and spread of Islam and later becomes the inspiration to the Muslims
entrepreneurs nowadays. Nevertheless, the significant factors that influence the success of her business are rarely discussed. Accordingly, this study is conducted with two objectives, first: to
identify the factors that affect the business success of Khadijah by using the literature review approach, second: to determine how far these factors play the important role to the success of
successful asnaf entrepreneurs. The importance of this study, therefore, it is among the pioneer which is empirically conducted to the asnaf entrepreneurs in Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS). The findings found the internal factor, to be exact, the practices of religious values, the owner characteristics and management practices become contribute significantly to the success of asnaf entrepreneurs. On the other hand, external factor including the business capital, characteristics of employees and cultural
environment were proved considerably insignificant to their success. Based on the result, some recommendations were suggested together with the limitation of the study which provides opportunity for future research.
