About The Journal

Labuan e-Journal of Muamalat and Society (LJMS) is the first online refereed journal [ISSN: 1985-482X; eISSN: 2672-7390]. Introduced by the Labuan Faculty of International Finance, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Labuan International Campus. LJMS is a scholarly journal published once a year.

LJMS is concerned with all aspects of the business, economics and society and is intended to provide valuable forum for the exchange of the latest research ideas and practice. As a necessary corollary to this, the journal covers a broad scope of discipline areas, including banking, economics, finance, ICT, Islamic banking, marketing, management, and other related areas.

LJMS hunts for meeting the needs of a wide but sophisticated audience and attracts international readership. All research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing by anonymous referees to ensure that academic integrity is maintained.

Scope of Research & Topics

Labuan e-Journal of Muamalat and Society (LJMS) welcome studies which focus on topical issues and are backed by relevant theoretical perspectives. These provide a key platform through which to advance both theory and practice. LJMS receives an original work from various area of business and economics.

Formatting:
  • In terms of format, the submitted article must be complied with a number of requirements:
  1. Margin: Top, Bottom, Left and Right must be "1";
  2. [Times New Roman: Title and authors (including their affiliation) 14;
  3. Body of Analysis (Abstract; Introduction...); Others will be managed by the management of the Journal.
  • With regard to references, the following can be followed:
  1. Guriting, P., & Ndubisi, N.O. (2006). Borneo online banking: Evaluating customer perceptions and behavioral intention. Management Research News, 29(1/2), 6-15.
  2. Hair, J.T., Anderson, R.E., Tatham, R.L., & Black, W.C. (1998). Multivariate data analysis. 5th ed. New Jersey: Prentice Hall Inc.
Plagiarism:
  • Authors should submit only original work that is not plagiarized and has not been published or being considered elsewhere. Appropriate softwares may be used by the editorial office to check for similarities of submitted manuscripts with existing literature. Inclusion of fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements are unacceptable. Work and/or words from other publications must be appropriately cited or quoted.
Reporting:
  • Authors should state their results clearly, honestly, and without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate data manipulation. The methods used in the work should be clearly and unambiguously described so that the findings can be repeated and confirmed by other researchers.
Conflicts of Interest:
  • A statement on conflict of interest must be included in the manuscript if authors receive any support that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.
Authorship and Collaboration:
  • Name of authors listed in a paper should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the report. Only those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the work must be acknowledged or listed as contributors. It is the duty of the corresponding author to ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included on the paper. All co-authors must approve the final version of the paper and agree to the version of the paper before submission.
Multiple or Redundant:
  • Authors should not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research output in more than one journal or primary publication. A similar manuscript should not be submitted to more than one journal concurrently as this constitutes as unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
Submission of a manuscript to the Journal will be held to imply that it presents original unpublished work and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere at the same time. Authors should refer to Authors Guidelines: Publication Ethics and Copyright Notice for preparation of manuscript. No article will be rejected without taking into consideration its values, its suitability, and its readiness to the Journal, which are based on reviewer's comment (constructive). The decision will be based on four situations: [1] Accept, [2] Accept with minor revision, [3] Accept with major revision, [4] Reject. Responsibility for opinions and accuracy of information in articles published rests solely with the respective authors. Submission can be made via:

PUBLICATION ETHICS
Authors Ethics:
  1. Have the responsibility of ensuring only new and original work is submitted.
  2. Must not reproduce work that has been previously published in other journals.
  3. Must not submit any articles that are being reviewed or considered by the journal to other journals simultaneously.
  4. Are only allowed to publish their work elsewhere after receiving a formal rejection from the journal or if their request to withdraw their work is officially accepted by the journal.
  5. Must inform the Chief Editor or the publisher of any inaccuracy of data in their published work so that correction or retraction of article can be done.
  6. Should make significant contributions and be held accountable for any shortcoming in their work.
COPYRIGHT NOTICE
  • A copyright transfer agreement must be signed and returned to the Editor-In-Chief by the author of accepted manuscripts before the online publication.
