The Journal of Contemporary Issues and Thought (ISSN 2232-0032) is an international peer-reviewed journal published once a year (October) from 2011 by the Faculty of Management and Economics (Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris) and Penerbit Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris. It aims to become the leading multi-disciplinary, open access, online academic journal in the field of current matters. The JCIT is dedicated to promote original research and insightful debate in contemporary issues and thought by publishing academic original articles, analytical and simulation models, empirical research, policy analysis and book reviews across a number of disciplines, including accounting banking, business, economics, education, entrepreneurship development, finance, international relation, law, management, population studies, public administration, science and social welfare.
Aims & Scopes
Journal of Contemporary Issues and Thought (JCIT) is an international peer-reviewed journal published once a year by the Faculty of Management and Economics, UPSI. It aims to become the leading multi-disciplinary, open access, online academic journal in the field of current matters.
Peer Review Policy
Publishable manuscripts will be referred to the Editorial Advisory Board members and/or other reviewers. Author are encouraged to suggest names of possible reviewers. Author will be notified about the editorial decision within six weeks from the date of manuscript receipt. Manuscripts are accepted conditionally, pending authors‘ revision of the material.
Journal of Contemporary Issues and Thought is double blind peer reviewed. The editorial processes follow standard procedures thus:
- Call for submissions/Online submissions
- Article submissions and acknowledgements
- Initial evaluation
- Allocation of reviewers based on article content
- Reviewing process
- Author re-submissions if necessary
- Further editing and processing
- Evaluation for publication

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

Submission Guidelines
- Authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- Manuscripts should be submitted in a single file (including text, notes, references, figures and tables) in Microsoft word format.
- Submission of a paper to the journal will be taken to imply that the paper presents original, unpublished work that is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
- All pages of a manuscript should be numbered consecutively.
- Title should be short.
- The first page should contain - the title, the name(s), institutional affiliation(s) with complete postal address(es) of the author(s), an abstract of not more than 200 words and up to 5 keywords.
- To facilitate communication between the authors, editors and publishers, the author should furnish an-email on the title page of the manuscript.
- Manuscript is to be written in English and should not be more than 7000 words in length.
- It should be in 11 point Palatino single-spaced.
- The manuscript should be typewritten on one side of A4 paper only, single spaced, leaving ample margin (2.54 cm) at the top sides.
- References should be typed according to the APA style.
