JES is a journal under Economics and Financial Policy Institute (ECOFI), School of Economics, Finance and Banking, Universiti
Utara Malaysia that published twice a year in the month of January and July. JES acknowledges the importance of sustainability
in the economic development of an economy. Its main objective is to provide a platform for the publication of articles related to
the economics and sustainability that develop empirical and theoretical findings serving a nation’s sustainable economic development.
The journal also benefits the students, academicians, managers and practitioners in the areas of economics and sustainability. The
topics covered in JES include, but not limited to, economic development and policies, development and sustainability management,
environmental and natural resources economics, public economics, labour economics, economics of happiness, food systems and
populations. JES published in online versions as an open access journal that freely available without charge to ensure the best
dissemination of findings to the academic and professional society. This also enhance the citations of published articles in JES.
